Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation is delighted to partner with Stage One to support a new strand bursary awards for emerging producers from Birmingham and the West Midlands.  Recipients receive mentoring from Stage One practitioners and industry professionals, free places on Stage One career development workshops and masterclasses on Producing in the West End/Regions/on the Frings.  Also on offer are financial bursaries towards production development costs, commission of artists and verified subsistence costs.  ALWF funding will also support a Stage One Regional Producing Workshop to be held in a Birmingham venue, and a stipend to support costs of the Stage One Trainee Producer at Birmingham Hippodrome.

We love that 85% of Stage One alumni have secured a full-time job post placement, with the remainder working as independents. Stage One producer training is renowned for its life changing results - we wish all participants every success on their training and future careers.

  • Joseph Smith, CEO, Stage One: “For nearly 50 years, Stage One has educated, trained and supported emerging and early career theatre producers nationwide, with a strong focus on entrepreneurship and those who have been traditionally underrepresented in the industry. We are so grateful for the support from Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation which will unlock specific opportunities for emerging producers in the Birmingham area. Regionally- focused bursaries will help new producers in the early years of their careers to get projects off the ground and establish themselves.  Our Commercial Regional workshop, to be staged in Birmingham in 2025, will inspire producers to expand their practice across the country.”
