The Trustees of the ALW Foundation were pleased to award a grant to English Schools Orchestra (ESO) in July 2015 towards their composing, improvising and performance project led by the ESO and music students at Goldsmiths, University of London, for 30 A Level, GCSE and vocational course music students from Lewisham borough. The project aims to bridge the gap between school, college and the life of a professional musician, giving professional music guidance and experience to those who would not otherwise have the opportunity for specialist teaching. The Lord Lingfield Kt DL, president of the ESO, said "I would be so grateful if you would pass on our gratitude to your Trustees as they will be enabling us to realise our vision of providing life-changing experiences for young people in the Lewisham area of London through music making and composing.
