Drake Music's Ramp It Up" Project will send professional musicians into mainstream and SEN schools to work with pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties and deliver creative music workshops, leaving a legacy of music at the school such that musicians use the equipment already in place at the schools and train the teachers and assistants to carry on delivering music workshops after the professionals have gone. Their music making links in with current topics to enhance pupils' understanding of other areas of the curriculum. The projects will take place in schools acrsss Bristol, Cardiff, London, Manchester and Brighton and benefit approximately 240 pupils agred 11 to 18 per year. In October 2011, the Trustees of The Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation awarded Drake Music a one off grant to support the Ramp It Up" Project in 2011/12. The Trustees were particularly impressed with the legacy of music this project achieves and the evaluation of the benefits provided.
