Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation is thrilled to partner for the first time with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, providing funding towards Talent Development Bursaries for Youth Orchestra (ages 13 to 21) performing at the highest level.

CBSO Youth Orchestra training includes performance techniques, industry expert tuition, physical health care and well being advice for young musicians. Led by professional conductors, youth orchestra members receive coaching and side by side mentoring from CBSO musicians. Bursary places are awarded following rigorous professional standard auditions, and aim to widen access to those historically under represented in the classical music sector.  We love that YO bursaries encourage young musicians and provide exceptional opportunities to make world-class music - listen to that!

  • Rachel Bowden, Senior Development Manager, The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra: “We are extremely grateful to Andrew Loyd Webber Foundation Trustees for their support of the CBSO Youth Orchestra bursaries. This will play a significant role in securing the future sustainability of our provision for young people and continue to enable us to offer music education of the highest quality to some of the most talented young players in the West Midlands and beyond. “
