Berkshire Maestros is a music education charity. They ensure access to high quality musical experiences to the widest possible range of children in the Berkshire area, regardless of their background or ability. They lead the Music Education Hub for Berkshire and every week teach more than 13,500 children and young people to play a musical instrument. Their Academy Programme identifies and nurtures the musical development of Berkshire's most able musicians. This includes their Academy on Sundays scheme for young musicians aged 9 to 15. In June 2014, the Trustees of the Foundation awarded a one-off grant to Berkshire Maestros for their Academy on Sundays scheme, specifcally targetting children from less affluent backgrounds.
