The Foundation reveals its 2016 Annual Review
I am delighted to be sending you The Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation 2016 Annual Review with details of our activity in 2016 and of all the grants awarded during the year. The Foundation made a bigger impact than ever in 2016, with highlights including the establishment of the Andrew Lloyd Webber Initiative in the US with American Theatre Wing and the publication of our research into the pipeline for BAME talent in the performing arts, Centre Stage. In 2016, the Foundation awarded almost £3.25 million in 33 new grants to organisations, supporting 124,729 people through its grant-giving programme. The grants focus on the enhancement of arts education and participation, improving access to the arts for all, and increasing diversity across the arts, culture and heritage sector. In 2017, the Trustees remain committed to support projects which make a visible positive impact on the quality of life of both individuals and local communities as well as continuing to explore the ways in which the barriers to the development of talent in the arts can be overcome. I hope you find the Review interesting and enjoy reading about how some of the recipients from 2016 have benefitted from the Foundation’s support. The Trustees and I would be very happy to consider any appropriate causes that you would like to suggest. Applications can be made via the Foundation’s website: ALW ANNUAL Report 2016
