ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER FOUNDATION APPOINTS REBECCA LLOYD AS NEW DIRECTOR
The Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation has announced the appointment of Rebecca Lloyd as its new Director. Lloyd brings more than 20 years' experience in philanthropy, strategic grant-making and charitable leadership to one of the UK's leading supporters of arts education and creative opportunity.
Lloyd succeeds Sarah Miller, who has led the Foundation's scholarship and grant-making activities for more than 15 years, helping establish it as a major supporter of arts education and widening access to creative opportunities across the UK.
The appointment comes at a significant time for the Foundation, following a record year for its multidisciplinary arts scholarship programme, supporting 44 scholars for the 2026–27 academic year, alongside the continued expansion of its grant-making initiatives.
The Foundation's grant-making includes support for the Music in Secondary Schools Trust (MiSST). More than 40,000 pupils have now participated in MiSST's Andrew Lloyd Webber Programme, which provides free musical instruments, structured weekly tuition and opportunities to perform in schools across the country. An impact assessment using the Social Value Engine estimates that every £1 invested in the programme generates £9.96 in social value.
Lloyd’s previous experience includes nearly a decade leading grant-making and philanthropy for HM The King's personal foundation, now the King Charles III Charitable Fund, where she developed its first strategic grant-making framework, including a focus on widening access to the arts for children and young people. Lloyd has also held senior positions at the Masonic Charitable Foundation, where she redesigned a grants portfolio worth more than £7 million annually to better address social inequalities, alongside earlier fundraising roles with WaterAid, Voluntary Service Overseas and the National Autistic Society.
Andrew Lloyd Webber and Madeleine Lloyd Webber said:
"We are delighted to welcome Rebecca to the Foundation. Her wealth of experience in philanthropy and strategic grant-making will be invaluable as we look to build on our work and reach even more young people in the years ahead. We also want to pay tribute to Sarah Miller, whose dedication and leadership have been instrumental in shaping the Foundation and everything it has achieved.
“From giving children their first opportunity to learn an instrument to supporting talented young people through professional training, our ambition is to ensure that financial circumstances never stand in the way of creative opportunity. Rebecca shares that ambition, and we're excited about what we can achieve together.”
Rebecca Lloyd said:
