Course: BA (Hons) in PROFESSIONAL ACTING - 3 years, full-time
On this programme students study Acting for Stage, Audio and Film, Voice, Movement, Singing, Stage Combat, Improvisation, Theatre Clown, Alexander Technique and Dance. Students perform in a variety of performance scenarios including main house theatre productions at professional venues in Bristol such as The Bristol Old Vic Theatre, The Tobacco Factory, Circomedia and The Weston Studio at Bristol Old Vic. They also have the opportunity to perform in front of a wide variety of audiences in touring theatre productions to schools, colleges, arts centres, theatres and other venues in Bristol and across the West Country.
The playful nature of the actor’s ensemble runs throughout the programme. The celebration of the diverse individual stories that students bring with them together with the maintenance of that individuality throughout training enables the building, enhancing and honing of distinct performance skills in order to create a holistic and flexible actor, primed for the modern performance stage. There is a continuity and coherence of approach across all technical disciplines that allows validity, security and trust in what is being taught and an embracing of the shared aims and ethos of the school.
Small cohort sizes allow detailed attention to the needs of the individual and the excellent student support allows you to chart a safe and secure pathway through the programme.
Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation Scholarship will be awarded by the School as part of the audition/selection process on the combined basis of merit and financial need. The Scholarship will cover course fees only and will be reviewed on an annual basis.
