Theatre Royal Wakefield awarded a grant to support their search for new talent

This funding from the Foundation provides bursaries to Theatre Royal Performance Academy students who might not otherwise be able to take part in their weekly theatre training class. Murray Edwards, Executive Director at the Theatre Royal Wakefield, said: “‘We are very grateful to the Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation for their support for our work with young people. It has been one of our over-riding aims to ensure that as many people as possible can take part in our youth programmes when we are aware that many families have limited financial resources. We believe it is essential that new generations are nurtured and encouraged to take a practical interest in the arts and this support will enable us to widen our participation base. Having just completed an extremely exciting run of Cats, we are now looking forward to our youth production of Jesus Christ Superstar in 2016." Click here to read the press release
